Maximum power of expression

The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS | Sports is the world’s first¹ telephoto lens with a 200mm focal length and F2 aperture designed specifically for full-frame mirrorless systems. The large bokeh, compression effect, and refined image rendering empower creators with exceptional expressive potential, enabling unique photographic and cinematic styles.

This lens is the ultimate choice for portraiture and is also highly suited for indoor sports photography in low-light conditions and fast-paced environments.

Equipped with a High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) for fast and precise autofocus, along with 6.5 stops² of optical image stabilization, the lens offers reliable handheld shooting. A dust- and splash-resistant construction, robust design, and the high-performance features of Sigma’s Sports line make this lens a reliable choice for any shooting scenario.

¹ As of August 2025, according to Sigma, for interchangeable lenses designed exclusively for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

² Based on CIPA guidelines. (Measured at 200mm on a full-frame camera.)

Key Features

World’s First 200mm F2 Full-Frame Lens for Mirrorless with Exceptional Optical Performance

Outstanding resolution, even wide open

With an optical design of 19 elements in 14 groups, including 2 FLD and 2 SLD elements, axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration—common in telephoto lenses—are thoroughly corrected. The result is extremely high optical performance with sharpness and contrast from center to corner, even at the maximum aperture.

Impressive Portraits with Exceptional Bokeh

The F2 aperture—twice as bright as F2.8—delivers large, smooth bokeh, and the 200mm compression effect isolates subjects beautifully. Combined with its high resolving power, this makes the lens ideal for striking, expressive portraiture.

Ideal for Indoor Sports Photography

The F2 brightness enables faster shutter speeds, even in low-light venues, making it perfect for indoor sports. The large bokeh highlights the movement and expressions of athletes, adding drama to action shots. The HLA motor ensures fast autofocus, and the Optical Stabilizer (OS) helps you capture critical moments with precision.

Minimizing Flare and Ghosting

Using advanced simulation technology, Sigma has minimized flare and ghosting for rich, contrasty results in all lighting conditions. The Nano Porous Coating (NPC) and Super Multi-Layer Coating further suppress stray light and reflections.

Fast Autofocus and Optical Stabilization to Maximize Performance

HLA Autofocus Motor: The built-in High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) delivers fast, silent, and highly accurate autofocus. Powerful Optical Stabilizer with OS2 Algorithm: The updated OS2 system offers up to 6.5 stops of stabilization.

             Mode 1  for general photography

             Mode 2 for panning shots

In Mode 2, Sigma’s Intelligent OS allows for effective stabilization during vertical or diagonal movements, regardless of camera orientation, preserving the panning effect.

Legendary Build Quality & Durability of Sigma’s Sports Line

Heat-resistant coating: A thermal-shielding exterior minimizes heat absorption from sunlight, preventing overheating during prolonged outdoor shoots.

Weather-resistant structure: The mount, focus ring, switches, and joints are all sealed to resist dust and splashes¹. The front element is coated to repel water and oil, making cleaning easy when dealing with moisture or dirt.

¹ The lens is not fully waterproof. Avoid exposing it to large amounts of water, as this may cause irreparable damage.

Newly Designed Tripod Socket

The TS-171 tripod socket has an extended base and is usable as a grip. It features a 90° click-stop for smooth, secure rotation and is Arca-Swiss compatible.
